The long history of Crew 75 is coming to an end.

For many reasons, including the 2015 changes to the Venturing program and the aging-out of key members in 2015, the Crew will not be rechartering for the 2017 year.

During the past 16 years, Crew 75 has been one of the longest-running and most active Crews in the Indianhead/Northern Star Council.   The Crew has served over 50 youth, and most certainly influenced many more, over the past years.   Among the highlights are two Crew trips to Europe: one in 2007 to Sweden and the UK, and another in 2014 to Norway.  In addition, members have had the opportunity to attend other Jamborees in the UK and Japan, as well as some other international events.

We should not forget all the other activities that Crew 75 participated in.  The Crew attended ten Bay Jammers, with highlights including being selected the recipient of the 2010 Pawlowski/Payton Spirit Award, and the privilege of the Crew leading the 2011 parade.   In 2012, the Crew won many competitions, including first place in the 2012 Lip-Jam with the theme “What’s your number?” by performing to Mambo Number Five.  Six trips were made to Rhinelander for the Samoset Council’s Fall Venturing Weekend.  For many Crew members (and leaders), it was the first introduction to climbing, shooting sports, and zip-lining.  The Crew also attended five WAM (Winter Amidships) in Fond du Lac, earning second place overall in 2013.

There have been many other events, camping trips and activities that the Crew attended as well as took the lead and provided leadership for several events.  The Crew has helped with clean-up for the White Bear Lake United Methodist Men’s Club Annual Wild Game Dinner every January for the past 16 years.  Who will forget the exotic dishes including zebra, alligator, and wild boar, to name a few.

In addition, a number of the Crew members earned Venturing awards, including the Silver Award, the Venturing Leadership Award, and the Ranger Award.

Once again, a big thank you to the members and leaders of Crew 75 – it wouldn’t have happened without you.

Last Day!

Though we were sad to leave our jamboree friends behind today, we are all glad to finally shower! Now it’s time for a good nights sleep before the long haul home.
